I recently visited Healdsburg, CA and had the best time! Nestled along the Russian River in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country, Healdsburg combines small-town charm, with an eclectic mix centered around a charming town plaza lined with shops, restaurants, tasting rooms, galleries, and bars.

While in Healdsburg, I stayed at the Cottages at Healdsburg and Hotel Trio. The Cottages at Healdsburg are located right in town, steps from all that wonderful Healdsburg has to offer. Hotel Trio, named after Healdsburg’s three acclaimed wine regions, offers 122-all suite accommodations in Sonoma County.

Tastings:

1. Seghesio Family Vineyards – Seghesio Family Vineyards is a leader in crafting Zinfandel and Italian Heritage wines that embody Sonoma County.
2. Aperture Cellars – Aperture Cellars offers a range of expressive Bordeaux style wines from Sonoma County’s premier cool-climate Bordeaux varietal vineyard sites.
3. Robert Young Estate Winery – A stately venue that pours wine flights in cozy private rooms & open-air spaces with scenic views.

Restaurants:

1. The Rooftop at Harmon Guest House – Rise above it all on the Rooftop terrace and indulge in views of Fitch Mountain, the Sonoma hills, and downtown Healdsburg.
2. Hazel Hill at Montage Healdsburg – Savor creative California cuisine with a touch of French je ne sais quois at Hazel Hill. Our signature restaurant highlights locally sourced ingredients and seasonal flavors in a warmly inviting setting, complete with an interactive expo kitchen, exhibit pantry, al fresco dining area and wine bar.
3. Barndiva – Farm-to-fork American eatery in stylish, barnlike surrounds with a spacious garden patio.
4. PizZando – At the corner of Healdsburg Avenue and Matheson Street, you’ll find a lively little restaurant serving a rustic menu of Napolitana and Romana style pizzas, house made pastas, grilled meats, fish, seasonal appetizers, organic soft-serve, and grab and go focaccia.
5. Troubadour –Located on the square in central Healdsburg, our humble boulangerie transforms into a 20-seat intimate bistro. Enjoy a French-inspired 6-course prix fixe menu dedicated to the rich agriculture of Sonoma presented with a modern yet classic flair.

Enjoyed the Jazz Festival seeing Bill Frisell Trio featuring Thomas Morgan & Rudy Royston, Camille Thurman with Darrell Green Quartet at Bacchus Landing. Had a Dessert & Sparkling Show at Hotel Healdsburg for two and saw Carlitos Medrano and Sabor de mi Cuba Concert in the Healdsburg Plaza

Getting Here:

I flew into SFO and rented a car. Healdsburg is about a 1 hour and 45 min drive from the time I got into our car. You can also fly into Santa Rosa which is about a 15 min drive to Healdsburg.

I loved my time in Healdsburg and cannot wait to return!
